It’s kitschy now, but when I created this portfolio, skeuomorphism was still very in. It was the mid-2000s, and Apple was still using digital leather bindings and images of bookshelves. Nostalgic things like tape-decks and record players were coming back in a big way. I built my portfolio to look like a rolodex to showcase my unique combination of design and development skills, writing the 3d css animation myself. I designed the controls to be intuitive, working with either the keyboard arrow keys, the click of a mouse, or the swipe of a finger on a touchscreen. I noticed in testing that people often didn’t notice the clickable navigation tabs, so I drew more attention to them with a short animation. You can play with it here.
